Updates from our Cadette troop!

Wow!  It sure has taken a long time to get some updates out here!  So sorry parents!  I guess it took a couple of extreme temperature days for me to get caught up on my Girl Scout business!

When school first started, we took the girls out to Thatcher Woods to take part in a free program that focused on Archery. The girls LOVED it!!!  From what I've heard, as well as what I can attest to in my own home, many of the girls asked for archery sets for Christmas.  Guessing we're headed back to the woods in the spring to use those new toys!

Our girls have been cooking up a storm lately trying to earn a badge.  We've taught the girls how to make fortune cookies, vegetable fried rice, pretzels and macaroni and cheese - ALL homemade I must add!

We are headed to the Microsoft Store for a workshop in Feruary where the girls will earn their "Digital Moviemaker" badge.  Can't wait to see what that is all about!

So much is coming up so stay posted!  Girl Scout Mass, Father/Daughter Bowling and much more.

Thanks for your continued support!

1st meeting recap!

Hello parents!
So, we have our first meeting of the new school year under our belts!  We hope your daughter had a great time!  We tried to make it as fun as possible while still getting all our business taken care of.  We discussed how they'd like to spend their meeting time as their last year as Juniors (can you believe it?!) as well as possible activities outside of our meetings.  We received sooooo many ideas from the girls and are very excited about what this year will bring!

Maybe by now they've mentioned to you how we're going to change up the way the meeting is run just a bit.  As Juniors, the girls have a bit more say in how they'd like our meetings run.  The girls volunteered for a part of the meeting they'd like to take charge of, such as snack, badge work, songs, games, traditions.  The girls will work together and make decisions based on input from as many other girls as possible.  We'll see how this goes for our next meeting and keep you posted!
As always, please let either of us know if you have any questions, issues or ideas.
Take care!
